Job Title: Materials Engineer

Job Description:

The Business Development Associate requires strong inter-disciplinary skills and knowledge, operating at the interface of metallurgy, strength of materials, solid mechanics, and mechanical engineering. Materials Engineer will provide assistance to Development, Manufacturing and Production groups in the fields of metallurgy, materials, processing and properties. Provide support in the areas of mechanical behavior, fatigue, fracture mechanics, corrosion, and lifing analyses. Communicate with customers at all the stages of programs. Write proposals, prepare design reviews and write reports at different stages of the program. Provide support to marketing efforts. Prepare and make presentations at trade shows, technical meetings and conferences.

  • Provide design, testing, and/or manufacturing expertise for development of projects on high value components
  • Negotiate and coordinate technical requirements with customers
  • Define metrics, process control limits, and plans to demonstrate process capabilities
  • Provide timely technical and schedule inputs for status reports, proposals, and quotations.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing to validate application design
  • Oversee completion of projects, including scheduling and routing
  • Other engineering and doccumentation needs of the business, as deemed necessary

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus at least three (3) years related experience in mechanical, metallurgy/materials, or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience as a Project Engineer with related customer interactions highly desirable
  • Experience in the aerospace, automotive, power generation, turbomachinery, biomedical or related industries is highly desirable
  • Experience with various analytical methods, including FEA, LEFM based prediction methods is highly desirable
  • Must be a US citizen per government contract regulations

Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

Job Description:


The Technical Sales Engineer will work closely with the marketing and engineering team to develop strategic relationships with potential customers. This position is the primary sales position at SET and, as such, will require strong B2B sales abilities. The successful candidate will be outgoing with above average technical and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Function as the primary sales representative for SET
  • Represent SET in public settings, such as trade shows and conferences
  • Develop relationships and maintain contact with potential customers
  • Assist with advertising and promotional efforts, including development of plans, materials, etc.
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how our product meets potential client needs
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience

Job Title: Machinist

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Job Description:
The machinist operates conventional machine tools to manufacture or alter components per engineering drawing, sketches, or verbal instruction from the department supervisor and/or other officers of the company (typically Quality Assurance or the Director of Engineering). The machinist will be trained to operate LPB processing equipment and should be capable of documenting operations and inspections on appropriate forms, performing routine maintenance on machine tools, and performing housekeeping duties. 

  • Care and use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, height gages, surface plates, gage blocks, etc.)
  • Care and use of standard hand tools (wrenches, pliers, files, deburring tools, scales, squares, protractors, etc.)
  • Bench operation, including: Layout, sawing, deburring, filing, tapping, reaming, fitting, and assembly. 
  • Metal cutting: Operate conventional machine tools, calculate appropriate speeds and feeds for material being cut, perform basic setup and operation of common machine tools (saws, mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.) and follow standardized work instructions. 
  • Inspection/Quality Assurance: Inspect parts for conformation to engineering drawings using precision measuring tools, record actual size on inspection forms, and document manufacturing operations on appropriate forms. 
  • Perform miscellaneous QA duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Fundamental skills: Machine shop safety, blueprint reading, and machine shop math.
  • The ability to write and edit simple CNC programming is a plus.
  • Machinist must maintain a professional appearance, have a positive attitude, and be able to work as a team player in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and have a minimum of three years machinist related experience.  For those who possess a certificate of completion from an appropriate trade school or college program, a minimum of two years machinist-related experience is required.

Lambda is seeking an entry-level first shift technician for sample preparation, strain gaging, electropolishing, x-ray diffraction measurement, mechanical testing and general lab support. This position is located at our materials testing facility in Fairfax, Ohio. 

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in engineering, physics or chemistry
  • Previous experience in any of the following areas highly desirable:
    • X-Ray Diffraction
    • Mechanical Testing
    • Strain Gaging
    • Electropolishing
    • Electroplating
  • Must be willing to take on multiple assignments, prioritize and complete on schedule
  • Training provided
