Job Title:          Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

Lambda seeking a 1st shift technician for sample preparation, strain gaging, electropolishing, x-ray diffraction measurement, mechanical testing, and general lab support at our materials testing laboratory facility in Fairfax, OH. Minimum AS degree in engineering, physics or chemistry field required. Previous experience in any of the following areas a plus: X-Ray Diffraction, Mechanical Testing, Strain Gaging, Electropolishing and/or Electroplating. Must be willing to take on multiple assignments, prioritize and complete on schedule. Excellent salary and benefits. Training provided.

Job Title:         Finite Element Analyst

Job Description: Perform solid modeling, meshing, pre-processing, processing and post processing of finite element models.

Qualifications:

    • Minimum AS degree in mechanical engineering/mechanical engineering technology.
    • Strong background in finite element analysis and CAD.
    • Must be willing to take on multiple assignments, prioritize and complete on schedule.

Required Skills:

    • Create 2-D and 3-D meshes of complex geometries.
    • Application of boundary loads and constraints.
    • Solving static and dynamic models using linear and non-linear material models.
    • Post-processing to provide presentation quality contours of key properties such as stress, strain and distortion.
    • Capable of writing customized macros.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Proficient in Word and Excel.

 

Optional Skills:

    • Programming in Fortran and/or Visual Basic.
    • Experience in modeling fatigue and crack growth.
