Project Engineer

Position Type: Full Time

Reports to: Project Manager

Responsibilities:

Manage the development, planning, and coordination of design and manufacturing implementation projects for the application of the LPB process on specific high value components.  Coordinate manufacturing programs with the customer's manufacturing and purchasing management to apply Lambda's Low Plasticity Burnishing (LPB) to mitigate damage in high stressed areas of critical components.  Design programs to meet the customer's manufacturing requirements, including schedule, cost, throughput, and technical specifications.  Negotiate customer requirements and define process-monitoring measurements.  Manage design of specific LPB manufacturing processes to meet process capability requirements and continuous improvement plans.  Define appropriate manufacturing processes following LPB treatment (inspections, control limits, conformance requirements, non-conformance disposition, process limits and process maintenance requirements). 

Position Duties Include:

    • Manage design, testing, and/or manufacturing expertise for development of LPB implementation projects on high value components.
    • Negotiate and coordinate requirements with customers. 
    • Create and maintain project plans. 
    • Define metrics, process control limits, and plans to demonstrate process capabilities. 
    • Provide timely technical and schedule inputs for status reports, proposals and quotations.
    • Manage testing to validate LPB application design. 
    • Oversight of the implementation of LPB manufacturing process at prototype run-off facilities, production facilities, including customer sites. 
    • Manage internal and external (customer) projects including scheduling and routing.
    • Other engineering and documentation needs of the business as deemed necessary. 

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree (or equivalent related experience) in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering or related field.  Experience as a Project Engineer with related customer interactions highly desirable.  Experience in automotive, biomedical, aerospace, turbo-machinery, power generation, or nuclear industries is desirable.  Experience with system engineering as applied to government/manufacturing-funded projects is beneficial.  Facility with Solid Works, SURFCAM or ANSYS is highly desirable.  Candidates must possess a strong desire to work in a highly dynamic, fast growth environment.  All potential candidates must successfully pass a written aptitude test.

Laboratory Technician

Discipline: Materials Testing

Job Description:

Seeking 1st shift technicians for sample preparation, electropolishing, fatigue testing, and general lab support at our materials testing laboratory facility in Fairfax, Ohio.  A high school diploma with chemistry and/or physics background is required.  Previous experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Fatigue Testing, Strain Gaging, Electropolishing, and/or Electroplating.  Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screen.  Excellent salary and benefits.  Training provided.  Qualified candidates should submit their resume to employment@lambdatechs.com or fax their resume to 513-561-0883.
